For developers and product teams
Developer platformVelocity
Vehicle intelligence. With the evidence attached.
Connected-car, OBD, DIMO, and manual evidence through one typed API—with provenance, freshness, and uncertainty kept intact.
Find Velocity in the field
A vehicle has many signals. Your product needs a coherent record.
A developer should not have to rebuild the meaning of each provider payload before they can answer a vehicle question.
Use a documented contract for the evidence layer while your application retains its own interface, conversation, and user experience. For the layer-by-layer data model, see our Technology page.
The Velocity workflow
FROM THE PUBLISHED PRODUCT MATERIALS- 01 / Connect
Connect different sources
Smartcar is the documented primary connected-car integration. DIMO is optional, with OBD and manual events providing additional ingestion paths.
- 02 / Observe
Keep evidence traceable
Raw events, observations, and assessments retain source, timing, quality, confidence, or freshness as appropriate to their layer.
- 03 / Assess
Ask Orá-1 Velocity
Ultrium’s custom fine-tuned Orá-1 model returns vehicle answers with selected evidence, freshness, confidence, and safe suggested actions. Your application owns the conversation.
- 04 / Build
Build against a contract
Use the versioned v2 API, TypeScript SDK, scoped credentials, and signed webhooks described in the developer documentation.
Before you begin
Evidence has operating limits.
Unknown data is not healthy data. A diagnostic trouble code does not confirm a diagnosis.
Orá-1 requires relevant fresh evidence and a completed assessment; insufficient evidence can prevent an answer.
Application access is scoped to explicit vehicle grants. The documentation describes separate Orá and Mechanic OS applications and databases—not unrestricted data sharing.
Access & availability

with Velocity.
Public documentation describes the v2 API and sandbox onboarding. Source access and available observations depend on connection, scope, and vehicle evidence.
